The Epidaurus Festival's Musical in Konavle
The most precious things begin and end at home; all else is secondary. Ježurka Ježić, the popular character from Branko Ćopić's “Ježeva kućica” (The Hedgehog's Home), understood this. So shall we, and our children; I'm not afraid for the children - they will understand if they have a chance.
A beautiful interpretation of this timeless text takes the form of a musical in the enchanted surroundings of Konavle's Pridvorje on Friday, September 16th 2011 at 8pm.
In Cavtat and in Pridvorje, the Epidaurus Festival has already brought to life Hansel and Gretel (2008) and Puss and Boots (2010). This year, Ćopić's Ježurka Ježić takes the leading role, wandering again and finding his new home in Pridvorje.
The Smješko Theatre company has prepared a glorious play for preschool-age and younger children about Ježurka Ježić, the celebrated hunter, according to B. Ćopić's well known poetic text “Ježeva kućica”.
The show is a little musical, using Hrvoje Hegedušić's original music written 20 years ago, and beloved by many generations. An original text, brilliant actors and puppets are all the more reasons to have a look...
The Epidaurus Festival has organized another special presentation entitled “Znakovi za najmanje” (Signs for the Littlest Ones) which will take place one day later, on Saturday, September 17th 2011 at 7:30pm in Čilipi in front of the Church of St. Nicholas, also performed by the Smješko Theatre company from Zagreb, starring Hrvoje Zalar. Every day, children are bombarded by numerous traffic signs whose colors and shapes can make it hard to recognize and remember their meanings.
The goal of “Znakovi za najmanje” is to show children, in a simple way through games and playful interactions, how to learn the importance of proper behaviour in traffic.
The main character of the show is a traffic light, who tirelessly monitors traffic at intersections. He introduces the children to his friends- road signs. Through interesting and educational interactions, road signs and children become friends.

Important Annoucement:
The Epidaurus Festival has organized transportation by bus to Pridvorje, following the route: Pile - Župa mljekara - Cavtat - Pridvorje - Cavtat - Župa mljekara - Pile. The bus will leave from Pile at 6:30pm and return from Pridvorje after the performance.
